Until recently, most adults would never have even considered the idea of orthodontic treatment. With a busy life and the need to interact socially and professionally with others, who has the time or energy to devote to dealing with a mouthful of metal brackets and wires?
Adult orthodontic treatment has come a long way since the days of uncomfortable metal wires and brackets that mar your appearance. These include Invisalign clear braces, which help you achieve a beautiful straight smile discreetly and comfortably.
State-of-the-Art Orthodontic Treatment
Our team is committed to providing you with updated treatments that improve your oral health and your lifestyle. We choose Invisalign orthodontics because they accomplish both. Invisalign offers many advantages over traditional braces:
- Invisalign’s clear plastic aligners are nearly invisible. No one has to know you’re undergoing treatment!
- The smooth BPA-free plastic aligners are comfortable and easy to wear.
- Invisalign aligners are completely removable for eating, brushing, and flossing.
- Oral hygiene is more efficient since you don’t have to clean around wires and brackets
- Treatment times with Invisalign are significantly shorter, about a year on average.
Invisalign has changed the lives of millions of adults who thought their only choice was living with a crooked smile or putting up with traditional metal braces. If you’re interested in learning more about Invisalign, we’d love to hear from you!
Early Orthodontic Treatment for Kids
Many parents ask us when the time is right to think about orthodontic treatment for their kids. Of course every child has their own unique needs, but The American Association of Orthodontists generally recommends scheduling an evaluation for kids no later than the age of seven. The sooner we get ahead of potential alignment problems, the better the long-term results.
Kids often display early signs of jaw problems as they grow and develop. We can examine and monitor your child's growth to determine when starting treatment will be most effective. Our goal is to help create the conditions that allow your child’s permanent teeth to erupt normally. There are certain appliances that allow us to do that.
A palatal expander, for instance, is an appliance that works to address the problem of crossbite, a malocclusion where the upper and lower jaw are misaligned. The expander widens the upper jaw so that the lower and upper teeth fit together better. Over time, it gently spreads the teeth apart to move the upper jaw into a more ideal position.
